This datasheet records the institutional pointers.

France export credit agency and official support

Bpifrance Assurance Export, a subsidiary of Bpifrance, is the French export credit agency. Official pages state that it manages public export guarantees in the name, on behalf of, and under the supervision of the French government, supporting French exporters and financial institutions by securing the risks associated with exports, with a range of insurance products and guarantees at each stage of the export cycle. Bpifrance Assurance Export is listed in the Berne Union member directory and states that it participates in Berne Union work.

Officially supported medium and long-term French export credits, including buyer credit structures where a bank lends against a French export contract under state cover, sit under French eligibility rules and the Arrangement disciplines applicable to the EU Participant. Private market credit insurance written outside the state mandate is a separate product class from public export guarantees.

FATF posture for France

France is a FATF member. Membership denotes participation in AML and counter-terrorist financing standard setting; evaluation outcomes are published by FATF separately. France does not appear on the FATF increased monitoring or call for action lists as reproduced in HM Treasury's June 2026 Money Laundering Advisory Notice.

Sanctions posture for France

France applies EU CFSP restrictive measures. Commission sanctions pages and the EU Sanctions Map are the public institutional pointers for regimes and listings; Official Journal texts remain authoritative. For sanctions screening on French exposures under EU measures, institutional reading starts from those EU sources and the French national competent authorities referenced by the Commission. Individual listing inventories are not reproduced here.

Company and beneficial-ownership registers in France

EU e-Justice materials for France state that local commercial and companies registers (RCS) are kept by registrars of the commercial courts, that the National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI) keeps the national register centralising information validated by the registrars and disseminates the technical, business and financial information it contains to the public free of charge for further use, and that Infogreffe is the dissemination platform for the business and companies registers of mainland France and the overseas departments and regions.

INPI materials on beneficial owners state that since 31 July 2024, in application of the Court of Justice of the European Union judgment of 22 November 2022, access to beneficial-ownership data is restricted to designated supervisory authorities, AML obliged persons, and persons or organisations demonstrating a legitimate interest, with legitimate-interest access limited to specified identity and interest fields. Open unrestricted public browsing of UBO data is therefore not the current official access model described by INPI.

Summary

Institutional mapping for France centres on Bpifrance Assurance Export's state-mandated management of public export guarantees, FATF membership with absence from the public lists as reproduced by HM Treasury, EU sanctions implementation, and a register model of public RCS company data beside restricted beneficial-ownership access under the post-2024 INPI rules.
