Germany export credit agency and official support

Federal export credit guarantees of the Federal Republic of Germany are administered as Hermes Cover. Official federal materials state that Export Credit Guarantees have protected exporters and banks from the risk of commercial and political payment defaults since 1949, and that the Federal Government indemnifies the policyholder for the amount of the covered receivable, less the uninsured percentage, in return for a risk-based premium. Cover is available only where private industry does not offer appropriate or sufficient insurance cover.

Products named in federal materials include supplier credit cover, buyer credit cover, manufacturing risk cover, contract bond cover, leasing cover and wholeturnover policies. The Berne Union member directory lists Euler Hermes Aktiengesellschaft for Germany; separately branded private credit insurance is not the same instrument as federal Hermes Cover. The e-Justice summary records earlier fees of EUR 4.50 for an electronic register extract on the Register Portal and EUR 1.50 per document accessed, and states that those fees ceased to apply on 1 August 2022; access to accounting documents in the Company Register is recorded as free of charge.

The Transparenzregister is the official federal platform for data on beneficial owners. Inspection conditions and current fee tables sit in the portal's own materials and the underlying Money Laundering Act provisions, which this datasheet does not restate; open unrestricted public browsing is not the access model, and UBO evidence for German counterparties follows the applicable access rules.
