Export agencies backed the Ichthys FLNG Terminal financing in Australia
The Australian floating LNG project drew a US$20 billion close in 2013, with Korean and Japanese agencies among the lenders.
The Ichthys FLNG Terminal in Australia was financed with support from several export credit agencies, according to deal records.[1][2]
In 2013 the project reached financial close on a US$20 billion loan package.[2][3]
Within that package, JBIC, Kexim and Export Finance Australia provided US$5.83 billion of direct ECA loans.[3]
KEXIM and K-SURE also supplied US$5.37 billion in ECA-covered debt for the terminal, with Nippon Export and Investment Insurance involved alongside them.[2]
K-SURE's role as an ECA-covered lender formed part of the same US$5.37 billion covered debt arrangement for the project.[1]
