Institutional datasheet
Czechia (the Czech Republic) is an EU and OECD member jurisdiction whose official state-supported export credit agency insurer is the Export Guarantee and Insurance Corporation (EGAP). For bank desks, the Czechia country profile centres on EGAP political and commercial risk insurance for Czech exports and their financing, Arrangement compliance, FATF-list geography and the public commercial register.
Official export credit support in Czechia
EGAP states that it is a leader in insuring political and commercial risks associated with the export of goods, services and investments from the Czech Republic and their financing. It provides services to Czech exporters and investors regardless of size, legal form or volume of insured exports, and protects against non-payment caused by political changes, expropriation, war or commercial failure of a foreign partner. The product portfolio supports export activities from bid submission through financing of production or working capital to final instalment payment or settlement of a performance bond. EGAP also states that it fills gaps in the export and investment finance market for exporters that are otherwise difficult to cover on regular insurance markets.
The Berne Union member profile records EGAP as a joint-stock company whose offered export credit insurance with state support is in full compliance with the Arrangement on officially supported export credits, EU law and Berne Union understandings. Major facilities listed include insurance with state support against commercial and political risks, buyer and supplier credit insurance, insurance of export contract-related bonds, manufacturing risks, pre-export financing, confirmed letter of credit insurance and investment insurance.
Arrangement disciplines, including OECD country risk classification premium floors where applicable, frame medium and long-term EGAP export credit insurance. Credit review identifies product type, Czech export nexus, advance payment evidence where Arrangement rules apply, covered perils, deductible and claims cooperation. EGAP is the insurer under the policy; the bank remains lender of record on a buyer credit unless documentation states otherwise. Separate Czech financing institutions may appear in the capital structure, with roles read from transaction documents rather than assumed from the EGAP mandate alone. Intercreditor and security documents define how EGAP claims proceeds are applied to covered receivables or facilities.
FATF and sanctions list posture
HM Treasury's June 2026 Money Laundering Advisory Notice reproduces the FATF increased monitoring and call for action lists. Czechia does not appear on either list in that notice. List status is an AML peer-review outcome, not a sanctions designation. EU, UN and UK financial sanctions can still designate Czech persons or entities; desk sanctions screening remains party-based. Host country risk on Czech buyers is assessed separately from FATF geography and from EGAP's own cover policy for destination markets.
Company and beneficial ownership registers
The Ministry of Justice of the Czech Republic publishes the Veřejný rejstřík (Public Register) search interface for legal entities, including commercial companies, with search by name, identification number and legal form. That public register is the primary official company identity source cited in this datasheet. Exact public-access rules for the separate register of beneficial owners, including any legitimate-interest restriction, are not confirmed from the sources cited here and are recorded as an open item pending primary confirmation.
Banks obtain company extracts from the Public Register and beneficial ownership evidence under Czech AML law and the bank's know-your-business programme. This datasheet records institutional pointers only.
